Man Found Dead After Jump From Harry Nice Bridge In Maryland, Authorities Say

A tragic scene unfolded at the Harry Nice Bridge on Wednesday morning in Charles County when emergency crews recovered the body of a man who reportedly jumped into the Potomac River, officials said.

The call came in around 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 20, prompting fire rescue marine units from Charles and King George counties to respond to the bridge, where they found a body in the water.

Crews retrieved the body and transported it to Aqualand Marina, where land units were waiting. The Maryland Transportation Authority Police have taken over the investigation into the incident.

Fire rescue units cleared the scene by approximately 1 p.m., according to Coordinator/Public Information Officer William Smith.
